Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-01. These terms govern use of the CartShield AI Shopify app (the "Service") provided by CartShield Labs.
1. Acceptance
By installing the Service you accept these terms on behalf of your Shopify store.
2. Use of the Service
The Service captures cart-abandonment events from storefront visitors, scores them for fraud risk, and sends recovery emails on behalf of the merchant. Features available to a store depend on the active billing plan.
3. Merchant responsibility for compliance
You are the data controller for end-customer data captured through the Service. You warrant that you have a lawful basis to send marketing communications to the email addresses captured via the widget, and that you comply with applicable law, including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regulations in your jurisdiction.
4. App availability
We aim for high availability but do not warrant uninterrupted service. Recovery emails are best-effort; the Service is not a transactional system of record. Maintenance windows and incidents may temporarily affect capture, scheduling, or sending.
5. Billing
Subscription fees, when paid plans are enabled, are charged through Shopify's Billing API. Free plan limits are listed in the embedded app's Billing page and on our pricing page. Cancellation prorates per Shopify policy.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is capped at the fees paid by you to us in the preceding three months. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
7. Termination
Either party may terminate by uninstalling the app or notifying the other in writing. Upon uninstall we cease processing and honour Shopify's GDPR redaction webhooks.
8. Support
Support is provided by email at help@cartshieldai.com. Response time is best-effort within one to two business days; Pro plan customers receive priority handling.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the embedded app.
